About Lotus Physiotherapy

At Lotus Physiotherapy we know that no one is exactly the same and that is why our focus is to listen to you. Together we can start to understand your injury or condition, what might be contributing to it, what the best treatment is based on the latest research and talk through what you can expect in terms of time frame and reaching your goals. For some people that might be running a marathon, for others just being able to walk up and down the stairs with less pain or even becoming more comfortable playing with your (grand)children.

If it comes to your health, you deserve the best. That is why we are determined to offer the highest quality of care possible. Which is one of the reasons why our assessment and treatment sessions are slightly longer than most other physiotherapy clinics offer. Meaning we have sufficient time to focus on getting you better.

About Rianne Garth

Founder

Rianne was born in the Netherlands and always had a special interest in biology, people and animals. Realising during her teenage years that perhaps becoming a vet wasn’t really her thing, she became interested in physiotherapy and she successfully completed the BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy in 2011.

After working in the Netherlands as a physiotherapist for a couple of years in a well known sports injury clinic, she decided to travel through Asia for a few months. At the time not yet realising she would meet a charming English man and deciding in 2014 to move to London to follow her heart.

In the years that followed she successfully continued her work as a physiotherapist within the private sector in South West London. She continued to widen and enhance her skills as a physiotherapist through ongoing learning, courses and work experience. A few examples of enhanced skills are in Medical taping, Mulligan Mobilisation technique’s, clinical governance and running assessments.

In 2023 Rianne and her husband decided to finally make their long term plan a reality and moved to the countryside near Beaminster. After finishing her maternity leave she worked for a couple of years at a private clinic in Poundbury and soon realised the lack of high quality physiotherapy clinics in West Dorset. With the NHS sadly being overwhelmed and lacking resources she decided to set up her own Physiotherapy clinic in Bridport, to support the local community, reducing the need for patients to travel to other cities and continue her joy of helping people feel like the best version of themselves regardless of age, injuries, illness or disability.
